Biography:
She and her sister(?) Juana, campesinas from Boyaca, worked as spies for the patriots. They watched the movements of the Spanish General Barreiro before the battle of Pantano de Vargas. They memorised messages and gave them to the División de Retaguardia. The two were captured and sent before General Barreiroñ he offered to spare them if they revealed the numbers and names of those in the patriot army. They refused to betray their comrades and were shot in the back on 11 October 1819. (P. Forero, 13-15)
