She was detained and imprisoned in the Recogidas, Mexico Cito on the grounds that she had had a relationship with the insurgent Pedro "el Negro". In 1818 her mother María Simona Reyes affirmed to the authorities that her daughter had not willingly left with the patriots. (Miquel i Vergés, 542)
