Education for Girls (Colombia)Biography:
Born in Colombia in 1709, she went to Spain to obtain the legal means of founding a colegio that would take boarding and day students and a section for poor girls to study free of charge, under the order of Nuestra Señora de la Enseñanza in 1770. She died in 1779 and her sister took over the project. The school eventually opened in 1783. (Knaster, 110-112)
