Born in 1776, she attended tertulias in Buenos Aires in 1817. She was described as highly intelligent and beautiful liberal by the Robertson brothers. (Sosa de Newton, 588-589)
She is described by the Robertson brothers as attending tertulias with Ana Riglos and Mariquita de Thompson in Buenos Aires. She was the sister of Liberal Manuel Sarratea. (Arambel Guiñazú, 18)
She was the sister of Manuel de Sarratea, who held aristocratic tertulias. Her "caustic wit" livened up these gatherings. The Robertson brothers described the Sarrateas as "the Whig faction in a Buenos Aires governed by the Tory Puerredón". (Halperín-Donghi, 237)
