A founder member of the Sociedad Académica de Amantes del País (1790). He was then a lawyer in the real Audiencia, Lima. They decided to found Mercurio Peruano de Historia, Literatura y Noticias Públicas. He wrote for El Mercurio Peruano under the pseudonym Chrysippo. (Clément, 10, 134)
