Carrillo familyBiography:
She was from Lima. Her literary work of 1757 was much discussed because no-one believed it was written by a woman. It was spontaneous because no-one had taught her and she hadn't read widely. Her writing is neither elegant nor perfect, but shows a lively imagination and a delicate sentiment. Ricardo Palma said, "No hubo en su época, pluma más fecunda ni mejor dirigida." She was enthusiastic about poetry and produced many sonnets. She wrote verses on the death of Juan V of Portugal. She was also the author of successful comedies. (García y García, 172-173)
