GRACE, the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) Research & Applications Centre of Excellence, based at the University of Nottingham held a free one-day seminar to celebrate the VISTA project.

The event was held on 11th June 2009 on the Jubilee Campus of the University in conjunction with UK Water Industry Research Ltd.

VISTA is a project jointly funded by the British Government and industry, set up to develop improved satellite navigation technology to collect and exchange buried asset records. The event will feature an interactive workshop with VISTA Project Outputs and hands-on demonstrations of the technologies developed.

The event was open to everyone with specific interest to workers from utilities companies, local authorities, highways contractors and those involved in the preparation, dissemination and use of buried asset records and in the application of the Traffic Management Act.

The seminar included speakers from the National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG), National Underground Assets Group (NUAG), UKWIR and GRACE.
