Advances in healthcare are advertised constantly everyday to both the public and healthcare professionals. Even though the underlying data is the same, statistical data from trials can be presented in many different ways, which can be confusing.

Individuals can be misled by numbers. It is important to be able to recognise the differences and interpret information appropriately when applying results to patient care.
