Nature uses transition metal centres bound to proteins to catalyse key chemical processes that are essential for life.
The structures of these centres often have no precedent in transition metal chemistry and provide the inspiration for the development of new metal-containing catalysts.
In this inaugural lecture, Jon will provide an overview of the research undertaken in the McMaster Group to understand the chemistry of these fascinating centres.
