What’s it like to come face-to-face with a lion, be attacked by an angry seabird, or experience the countdown to the live TV outside broadcast Springwatch? And what about directing the comedian and birder Bill Oddie, filming Michaela Strachan in Antarctica, or working with the legend that is Sir David Attenborough? They’re just some of the ‘Big Beasts’ you’ll encounter on this special evening!
To celebrate the first anniversary of the Sustainable Travel and Tourism Advanced Research (STTAR) centre, former BBC NHU Series Producer, nature-writer, journalist & NUBS Special Professor, Stephen Moss, and University Environment Ambassador & Vice President of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Dr Rob Lambert share their experiences on both sides of the camera with us.
Using a selection of entertaining TV clips, a fund of real-life anecdotes, and hilarious outtakes, they will offer helpful guidance, hints and tips on how to succeed and deliver in the creative process. There will be an interactive Q&A session at the end.
The STTAR centre also welcomes Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust (NWT) to this celebratory event to share details of their biggest ever listening exercise at Attenborough Nature Reserve which focussed on how people wish to engage with the site and barriers to visiting/engagement. They will also talk about the challenges of managing these sites and their increasing focus on using the flagship reserves as a springboard for environmental action.
The event is free and open for all to attend.
