HRLC was awarded funding by the Equality and Human Rights Commission

We are pleased to announce that HRLC has been awarded funding to work with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) of Great Britain on a project aiming at obtaining a clearer understanding of how civil society organisations (CSOs) based in England and Wales use the international human rights framework (IHRF), the Human Rights Act 1998, the Equality Act 2020 and the Public Sector Equality Duty in their work. The EHRC would also like to gain a better understanding of what kind of activities CSOs undertake in this relation, how activities are prioritised, what challenges and barriers they face, and how EHRC funding supports this work and how additional funding might make a difference.

HRLC researchers (Professor Nolan, Dr Walter and Ms Wills) will build an online survey covering the wide range of CSOs’ activities when engaging with or referring to international and domestic human rights legislation. They will collect and analyse the data and produce a report outlining the main findings.
