Alumni student wins British Commission for Maritime History prize

The Department of History is delighted to announce that former student Peter Thomason has been awarded a British Commission for Maritime History (BCMH) prize. This recognised the research he had carried out for his level three dissertation.

Peter's study was titled ‘A Reflexive Relationship: Liverpool’s Slave Merchants and their Experience of Privateering and Risk, 1776-83’. The work he had done contributed to the undergraduate achievement in maritime history. Peter conducted this research under the supervision of Sheryllynne Haggerty, to whom the BCMH also extend congratulations.
