Environmental historian and the Wildlife Trusts

Environmental historian, Dr Rob Lambert, has been appointed Vice-President of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust. This is one of the smallest of the 47 county Wildlife Trusts in Britain, but falling within the Duchy of Cornwall, has HRH The Prince of Wales as its Patron.

The archipelago of Scilly is hugely important for its maritime heathland and marine wildlife, endemic terrestrial species such as the Scilly shrew and Scilly bee, breeding seabirds, as well as rich coastal archaeology. The national Wildlife Trusts are looking to create Living Landscapes and secure Living Seas across the UK.

This honour for Dr Lambert comes from his role as one of the appointed national ‘Ambassadors’ for the wider Wildlife Trusts movement in Britain which has over 800,000 members.

In November, Dr Lambert attended the Wildlife Trusts Ambassadors Dinner at Whitehall Place, The Royal Horseguards, Westminster, London, hosted by TV naturalist and film-maker Simon King OBE, President of the Wildlife Trusts.
