PhD student Freddie Stephenson gets funding from Universities' China Committee

The Institute of Asia and Pacific Studies (IAPS)/Department of History PhD student Freddie Stephenson has just received external research funding from the Universities' China Committee in London. The award will go to underwrite his archival work in Hong Kong and Shanghai, pertinent to his study of the civil and medical topography of both cities in the 19th century.

The awarding committee complimented the strength of Freddie's doctoral project and the coherence of his research plan. Freddie is appreciative of the ongoing support and encouragement of IAPS, the Department of History, and the School of Humanities.
