PhD candidate Dimitri Smirnov joins COTCA project

The COTCA Project is delighted to welcome visiting PhD candidate, Dimitri Smirnov, to Nottingham! A recipient of the Marietta Blau-Grant (funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research), Dimitri will spend the next six months attached to COTCA.

Dimitri is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Cultural Studies at the University of Graz, Austria. In his PhD thesis, he examines how sounds convey violence in Anglophone, Francophone and Russophone postcolonial literature. He has already presented some of his work at COTCA events over the last two years.
