Humanities gains Athena SWAN Bronze Award

The School of Humanities has received an Athena SWAN Bronze Award. The Athena SWAN Charter recognises the work of a university department to address and improve gender equality.

Professor Jonathan Tallant (Head of School) has said: ‘We are delighted to have secured this award, which is a reflection both of the hard work of the drafting team and of the broader commitment across the school to inclusivity and equality.’

Professor Sarah Badcock (Head of History; Chair of the School’s EDI committee and Lead for the School’s Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Team) has said: ‘We are proud that Advance HE has recognised us in this round of awards and we are now looking forward to fully implementing our five-year plan of initiatives in gender and diversity.’

Further information about the School’s Equality and Diversity activities can be found here.

Gender Charter is written in white in a bronze circle, and to the right Athena Swan is written in navy and Bronze Award in bronze.
