Dr Jonathan Roche's doctoral research discussed in The Times newspaper

Dr Jonathan Roche, who completed a PhD in the Department of History in 2020 and has now joined us as a fellow, has been discussing his research with The Times newspaper. The paper covered some of his discoveries around the invasion of the Spanish Armada in their publication on 19 February.

Dr Roche's research concerns Welshman, Hugh Owen's, reports in the Spanish archives which suggest espionage may have had an impact on Spanish military strategy during the Anglo-Spanish War (c. 1585-1604).
