The Tranfield Scholarship kindly offers to support one full-time student on the MA in History. The Scholarship has a value of £5,380 for the 2014/15 academic session and is intended to act as a fee waiver.
The Scholarship is intended to be awarded to an applicant of academic merit who demonstrates commitment and ambition both in their studies and the furtherance of their chosen career.
The award recipient will have attended a state school within the United Kingdom between the ages of 11-18 and must also meet residency requirements for a ‘home’ student. (To be classed as a ‘Home’ student, a student must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the three year period prior to the start of the course).
The University of Nottingham will advise Mr Tranfield regarding the successful recipients of the award and may publicise the name of the recipient. The recipient is requested to inform the Department of History if he/she has any objections to this.
Successful candidates will be asked to submit a short report to summarise their experiences during the academic year, explain the progress they have made and what a difference the award has made to them.
If you wish to be considered for the Scholarship award, would you please send your completed application form to Mrs Amanda Samuels, University of Nottingham, School Management and Research Office, School of Humanities, University Park, Nottingham, NG7 2RD.
