Current Research
As an honorary research fellow, I am researching and writing on my areas of interest, principally in medieval English history. Continuing research on the history of English government and its records from the 12th to 14th centuries, and legal history and records from the 12th to the 17th centuries; forests and forest law, c1066 to 1250; the origins of the legend of Robin Hood; local history of the east midlands from the 11th to 17th centuries, especially Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.
