Biography
Dr Kana holds a PhD in History from King's College London. He works on recovering the voices, experiences, and agencies of marginalised communities within the colonial and postcolonial periods. Recently, he was selected by the Bloomsbury-IHR Inclusive Histories initiative for my first monograph 'Development and non-state actors in modern India: Agencies, perspectives and experiences, 1900-1964.' The book reconceptualises our understanding of the agents of development, within colonial and post-colonial India, by recognising the important contribution of non-state indigenous actors to reveal that development was not just about the institutions, power, and structures of the colonial and post-colonial state.
