Description

All students and staff welcome!

Many people regard the election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States with dismay and fear.

This event will give us the chance to debate and discuss some of the philosophical questions and concerns that this election has generated.

There will be 5 minute thoughts from members of the Philosophy Department:

They will consider issues and questions concerning:

  • Gender and violence
  • The construction of (and resistance to) social identities
  • Refugees and immigration
  • Truth and ‘post-truth’
  • The failure of reasoning
  • The role of the media

We will then open discussion up to the floor. Do come along and join in. No registration necessary – open to all.
