The successful candidate will provide cover for a member of staff on research leave and be responsible for teaching Jewish Studies and Religious Studies at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Teaching duties will include the core modules ‘Introduction to Judaism’ for first year undergraduates and ‘Explaining Religion’ for second year undergraduates. The ability to teach biblical Hebrew at advanced undergraduate level is desirable. Further teaching duties will be assigned in consultation with the Head of Department. Candidates must have a good first degree, a Masters degree and a relevant PhD or a doctorate near completion. Experience of undergraduate teaching in the UK or abroad is essential and experience of administration in a university department is desirable. This full-time post is available on a fixed-term contract from 1 September 2015 to 15 June 2018. Interviews will take place week beginning 25 May 2015.
