David Garlick prize for best A level essay in Religious Studies
The Department of Theology and Religious Studies at University of Nottingham warmly invites entries for the David Garlick Prize. Essays on any subject within the A level syllabus and the scope of the department’s expertise are eligible, including theology, philosophy, ethics, and world religions. Entries might approach ideas and topics in Religious Studies historically, critically, or in relation to politics, contemporary culture and the arts. We look forward to receiving work which displays a broad array of perspectives.
Essays should not exceed 1,000 words, excluding footnotes and bibliography, and should be submitted as Word documents to Dr Jon Hoover (jon.hoover@nottingham.ac.uk) by the submission deadline of Wednesday 14 December 2022 at 5 pm, with name and school in the email but not on the essay itself. The prize of £100 in book-tokens will be announced by Wednesday, the 18th of January 2023. The prize is named in memory of a former student, David Garlick, who made a generous bequest to the department, and is intended to promote our discipline of Theology and Religious Studies.
