Protect your university Microsoft 365 account with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – action required by Monday 8 November
As you may know from recent communications, from Monday 8 November, MFA will be required to access Microsoft 365 (email and Office 365 apps). Securing our Microsoft 365 accounts with MFA will help reduce the risk of cyber and phishing attacks and help protect and safeguard the university network as well as your data and identity.
Secure your account – the process is simple, all you need to do is:
- Set up MFA if you haven’t already, visit the MFA web page for instructions
- Fill in the Secure M365 Form and submit
After you submit the Form, you may need to approve authentication a few times for each app and device that you use but after that, you won’t be prompted for a further 90 days as long as you use the same device and browser. On the 8 November, all users' 365 accounts will have a security policy automatically applied – this could prevent you accessing services if you don’t set up MFA. It is really important you act now to prevent any disruption.
