Screening research documentary in the Scottish Parliament

"Blood Under the Skin" is a documentary inspired by the research project of the Director of ICEMiC, Dr. Morteza Hashemi. The film explores the social dynamics of blood circulation in Scotland, specifically focusing on a grassroots blood donation campaign led by Scottish Muslims in collaboration with the NHS.

On 7 November 2024, the documentary has been screened in the Scottish Parliament. The event featured a panel with Bill Kidd MSP (event sponsor), Kaukab Stewart MSP (the Scottish Minister of Equalities), Professor Marc Turner (Director of Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service), Ifty Ali (Community activist and blood donation coordinator), Chris Godwin (the documentary’s director),  Rev Gareth Jones (Interfaith Officer, The Methodist Church) and other community activists.

You can watch the Blood Under the Skin documentary on the YouTube channel of the University of Nottingham.
