Brigitte Nerlich is co-author on an article published in the Journal of Infection Prevention on hand hygiene and infection control.
Research was led by Kim Hardie (Life Sciences; molecular microbiologist). The team (life science, manufacturing engineering, social science, nursing etc.) aimed to test whether interactive educational interventions (using a specifically designed toy) increase children's and visitors' compliance with hand hygiene and found that such interventions may result in a significant improvement in children's and visitors' hand hygiene (P < 0.001).
