PGR researcher Natalia Ciecierska-Holmes has published a paper in the inaugural issue of the Student Journal of Vegan Sociology. The paper titled “In the Name of Cows’ Rights: Sacred Cow “Mothers” and Ethnonationalism in India” draws on feminist political ecology and material feminist approaches to examine how discursive constructions of nonhuman nature, such as the sacred cow, interact with distinct material realities regarding violence and discrimination against human and bovine bodies.
