New publication from Renelle McGlacken and Pru Hobson-West on imaginaries of 'the public' in UK dialogue around animal research

Renelle and Pru have recently published a paper in Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, which examines how ‘the public’ is imagined as un- or mis-informed, homogenous, and as holding fixed and extractable views in dialogue around animal research. In critiquing such imaginaries, the paper considers insights from work with the Mass Observation Project (MOP), a national life-writing project in the UK, drawing out lessons that the MOP offers for those exploring societal views towards animal research.

The article is available open access.
