Nominated in 9 out of 10 categories, Nottingham's various law societies swept the board at this year's Students' Union's society awards, securing a host of accolades including the coveted Best Society Award.

- Best Event: Bar Society (evening with Lord Neuberger, President of the Supreme Court)
- Best Society: Pro Bono Society
Highly Commended
- Welfare and Inclusivity Award: Law Society
- Best Charitable Initiative: ELSA Nottingham (Refugee project)
- Best Inter-Society Collaboration: Pro Bono Society, ELSA Nottingham and others (Environment and Social Justice week)
- Best Academic Experience: Law Society
Overall, law societies received 21 nominations, as well as eight nominations for the Individual Award for Outstanding Contribution.
Jessica Allen, President of ELSA Nottingham, said: "The awards are testament to the hard work of our law societies this year – we're all so proud and delighted."
The Law Society, Bar Society, Pro Bono Society and ELSA Nottingham also secured 'Gold Society' status in recognition of their activity on campus.
Created to celebrate the very best student societies in the UK, this year's National Societies Awards will be held at Nottingham tomorrow evening. The Pro Bono Society has been short listed for the Best Society Award, while the Bar Society has been shortlisted for the Most Improved Society and Welfare and Inclusivity Awards.
