Delegation from the Central Party School, China National Academy of Governance visits School of Law

On Thursday 7 December, a delegation from the Law Department of the Central Party School, China National Academy of Governance visited the School of Law as part of a knowledge exchange trip organised by the British Embassy in Beijing.

The delegation was headed by Professor Zhuo Zeyuan and after a meeting with the Head of School, Professor Dirk Van Zyl Smit, and Professor Stephen Bailey, engaged in a roundtable discussion with other colleagues on the challenges globalisation poses to the rule of law. Areas of particular interest included role that the European Court of Human Rights plays in UK human rights protection, consumer protection, bankruptcy and insolvency law and competition law.
