Fellowship awarded to fund work on improving police custody for autistic individuals

Dr Nell Munro, Professor John Jackson, Dr Dani Ropar from the School of Psychology and doctoral student Chloe Hocking have been awarded a Nottingham Impact Accelerator Award to fund their work on improving police custody for autistic individuals.

They will be developing training materials and a video for police officers. This will be followed up with a report based on discussions with both autistic individuals and the police about the need for policy reforms to improve the custody experience for autistic people.
