Dr Orsolya Toth's book has won the St Petersburg International Legal Forum Private Law Prize 2018. The Lex Mercatoria in Theory and Practice (OUP, 2017) had been shortlisted along with seven other works and was selected by the Expert Committee as the winning piece.
The Prize was presented at an award ceremony during the Legal Forum by Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The Prize aims to encourage and recognise the study of private law globally at the highest level and it is to be awarded annually.
The Legal Forum was held in St Petersburg between 15-19 May 2018 and brought together over 4,000 lawyers from government, the judiciary, academia and practice.
