Professor Jeff Kenner has published a guest editorial on COVID-19, Brexit and labour standards in the UK and European Union in the leading Italian labour law journal, Diritti Lavori Mercati. It has been published as a blogpost in the WoutersKluwer labour market blog, Regulating for Globalisation:

Professor Kenner argues that with the post-Brexit trade negotiations deadlocked during the COVID-19 lockdown, it is essential for the parties to resolve their differences to avoid a second, wholly avoidable, economic and social crisis at the end of 2020. The present positions of the parties are far apart, however, on the issue of labour standards. Professor Kenner explores why resolving the question of whether the UK should remain converged with EU labour standards, or diverge from them, has become so central to the debate and why COVID-19 has given it added urgency".
