Student named as finalist for the TARGETjobs LGBT+Undergraduate of the Year Award 2020

Jack Palmer entered the TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards. Jack beat off stiff competition and has now been named as a finalist for The LGBT+ Undergraduate of the Year Award 2020 with Clifford Chance.  This year over 4,500 students applied for the awards.

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards is a competition open to students across the UK where they can win prizes such as placements, internships and trips abroad with internationally recognised organisations. This year there were 13 different awards that cover a range of academic subjects and skillsets. This is now the 11th year of the awards and we had over 4,500 students apply.

To make it to the final of the Undergraduate of the Year Awards students had to first complete an application, including essay style questions and online tests. Once passing that stage students were either invited to a telephone interview or take part in an assessment centre. Clifford Chance have been extremely impressed with Jack and has invited them to the grand final taking place on Friday 4 September where each winner will be announced.

Jack said, ‘’After a tough year, I am incredibly pleased to be given the opportunity to represent both the university and the school at the Undergraduate of the Year Awards, sponsored by one of the top global law firms.’’

The final is usually held in person in London, with only the student finalists and employer partners invited to attend. This year, however, the final will be held virtually with Rachel Riley as our host. We are opening our doors and we’d love for you to join us to celebrate the fantastic achievements of each student and, of course, watch live as we unveil the winners!

If you would like to access the virtual final you can request the registration link and be able to share in Jack’s fantastic achievement.
