Dr Aris Georgopoulos was invited speaker at a high level event organised by the Westminster Health Forum Conference on 15 July ("The future for procurement in the NHS - resilience and future health emergency preparedness, value for money and transparency, sustainability, and key lessons from COVID-19".) The Conference was attended by Members of the House of Commons, officials from the Crown Commercial Service, the Department for International Trade, the Department of Health and Social Care, the Health and Safety Executive, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, the National Audit Office and TheScottish Government, various NHS Trusts, other bodies from the wider NHS Ecosystem and private firms active in the Health and Pharmaceutical Sector such as Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and various law firms.
Dr Georgopoulos' contribution covered the use of technology as efficiency multiplier in the NHS procurement supply chain and he had the chance to share some preliminary findings from the Innovate UK funded projects he is currently engaged in (healthcare procurement supply network sustainability through Artificial Intelligence and Big Data analysis).
