On 27 October, the School of Law hosted the first seminar in the 2021/22 ILA Regional Seminar Series with Professor Anthony Anghie speaking on the topic of “Rights, development, solidarity: contending visions of international and global justice”. Professor Anghie called for “alternative cosmopolitanism” based on solidarity and an expanded notion of human rights, with Dr Thamil Ananthavinayagan commenting.
Professor Anghie is Professor of Law at the University of Utah and National University of Singapore and the Head of Teaching and Researching International Law in Asia (TRILA), Centre for International Law, at the National University of Singapore. The ILA Regional Seminar Series is organised by the School of Law in cooperation with International Law Association - British Branch and convened by Dr Klara Polackova Van der Ploeg.
