On Thursday 22 June, Professor Vicky Kemp was invited to the 2023 “Challenges of Access to Justice” ILAG conference in Harvard Law School where she delivered a talk on her paper titled 'Access to justice for child suspects drawn into an adversarial system of justice'.
Professor Kemp was the principal investigator in a Nuffield funded study that examined the impact of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 on the detention and questioning of child suspects. She is the first researcher in the UK to be given access to talk to children about their legal rights while detained in police custody.
