Teaching Associate, Faculty of Social Sciences
Emeka completed his PhD in Law at the University of Warwick. His PhD thesis titled 'Regulation of Anti-corruption in Nigeria: Towards Reflexive Law and Policy' draws from reflexive law theory to provide a framework for the operationalisation of reflexive regulation of anti-corruption law and policy within companies through participatory self-regulatory measures that are engendered by a continuing relationship between companies, anti-corruption agencies, and civil society organisations. He has an LLM in International Business Law (with distinction) from Queen Mary University of London and obtained his LLB from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Emeka is qualified to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Nigeria and as a solicitor of England and Wales (non-practicing).
Prior to joining the school of law in January 2024, Emeka had worked as a Senior Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Warwick Law School and as Research Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.
Emeka's current research interest spans across regulatory theory, anti-corruption/ anti-money laundering regulation, and data protection regulation. He is particularly interested in participatory models that could enhance compliance and regulatory efficiency. Emeka is also interested in international investment law.
