Sara Hassan

Senior Administrator and Supply Chain Planner

Sara is a Senior Administrator and Supply Chain Planner for the NDSS. She is a supply chain professional with experience in operations management, commodity management, procurement, logistics, legal contract reviewing, and data analytics. She brings her five years of international operations and supply chain expertise across three different countries to the NDSS, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen and expand logistic networks related to NDSS projects and operations.

Elvir Hasedzic

Senior Project Manager

Elvir provides us with leadership and end-to-end project management for the engineering development project within the organisation. Elvir manages the projects which are technically complex for strategically important customers. With over 15 years of work experience as a passionate and visionary leader, Elvir excels in driving the team to create and deliver unparalleled solutions that elevate products to new levels of elegance, premium quality, and global distinction. Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, Elvir inspires and motivates the team to surpass expectations and achieve high results daily.

Hitendra Hirani

Sales Manager / General Manager

Dr Hitendra Hirani has worked closely with industry on topics such as automated assembly systems and aerospace technology developments since the turn of the Century. Through his activities focussed on large multinational and multidisciplinary programmes, he has served on key regional, national and international boards including the on Steering Committees for Airframe, Systems and Engines ITD and the Governing Board of the €4bn Clean Sky 2 programme, Midlands Aerospace Alliance Technology Development Group and on the Auto/Aero Regional Growth Forum. Hitendra now works closely with the Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre national initiative with key leaders from Universities, Catapult Centres and industry.

Alex Madejska

Senior Administrator and Supply Chain Planner

Alex is our Senior Administrator and Supply Chain Planner. Alex joined the University working in the Financial Management Team where she developed a strong understanding of financial principles, purchasing and procurement processes while closely working with internal and external stakeholders. She has joined the team to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the international supply chain she is developing for the projects of NDSS.

Paul Reid

Senior Applications Engineer

Paul is our test and validation expert. He comes from industry and has over 30 years of Automotive Powertrain experience as a multi-disciplined electro-mechanical Engineer. He started his career in 1993 as a racing car fuel injection specialist working around the globe developing race engines and control systems for TOMS-Toyota and Zytek, before transferring onto road car projects with Continental Engineering Services to improve exhaust emissions.

In 2008 he transferred onto electric vehicle powertrain projects to improve the durability and driveability of traction machines and inverter drives, having to make and modify many low inertia dynamometers and bespoke test-rigs to suit the ever-evolving world of powertrain.

Rebecca Shearring

Operations Manager

Rebecca is responsible for laboratory operations including test and manufacturing jobs delivered to the right quality and timescale. Working closely with Senior Technical Managers, Rebecca ensures resource needs are fulfilled and projects progress as intended. She has significant experience of improving operational efficiency and quality in manufacturing and service delivery. Rebecca is a qualified Lead Auditor and holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma.

Chris Varley

Senior Technical Manager

Chris is our Technical Manager. Working closely with the NDSS team, PEMC research group and wider university. Chris develops, manages and leads the facilities testing activities and provides strategic leadership and management of the highly skilled NDSS and PEMC technical teams. Chris’ background is in test facility design and management, test stand operation, electrical design and installation. He has over a decade of experience working in electrification research in sectors including aerospace, automotive marine and rail.

Kai Watson

Apprentice Sales Executive

Kai is our Apprentice Sales Executive. Working closely with the researchers and educators at the University of Nottingham to provide tailored PEMD training courses to leading companies across multiple sectors, Kai is very driven by the idea of changing the traditional engineering ideologies and helping pave the way to a zero-carbon emissions future.

Antra Singh

Project Manager

Meet Antra, our dedicated Project Manager overseeing our commercial projects. With over 5 years of hands-on experience in project management and operations within the industry, Antra brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Her commitment to efficient project management and delivery ensures that our projects are executed seamlessly and successfully. Outside of work, Antra finds joy in diving into social media and scrolling through pages.

Sameena Rashid

Head of Operations

As Head of Operations, Sameena oversees a diverse team of professionals and ensures the efficient deployment of resources to deliver projects across multiple sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive, Marine, and beyond.

Previously, Sameena held a Deputy School Operations Manager position in the School of Engineering at a top 30 (QS) Russell Group University, where her responsibilities included leadership, operational delivery, and change management. Sameena has held various roles in industry from Service Delivery Manager, Business Development Manager, and a Project Manager role where she developed relationships and partnerships with organisations from across Europe and the UK.
