Andrew Cook, Lecturer in Human Geography

Andrew Cook is currently completing his Ph.D on 'Transnational migrants and socio-spatial exclusion in post-socialist Prague'. His research focuses upon the economic, social and cultural impacts that professional transnational migrants have upon the city of Prague, Czech Republic. The research examines the micro-foundations of socio-spatial exclusion through studies of everyday place making practices, their influence within the local residential real estate market, as well as via the socio-business networks that such individuals are often embroiled within.

Dr Benedikt Herrmann, Research Fellow in the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics (CeDEx)

Dr Herrmann's research interests are in the fields of neuroeconomics and experimental economics. He has undertaken research on trust and cooperation in the Russian Federation. Dr Herrmann has also worked as a consultant on technical assistance projects in Russia.

Prof Nick Manning, Professor of Social Policy and Sociology
Prof Manning’s research and consultancy interests lie in the fields of international social policy and especially medical sociology and health policy. His research in Russia and Eastern Europe has focused on poverty and social exclusion.

Prof Sarah O’Hara, Professor of Geography
Prof O’Hara’s research interests in the former Soviet Union include water management strategies in the Central Asia republics and the connections between dust and human health in the Aral Sea basin.

Dr Anna Soulsby, Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour
Dr Soulsby’s research interests includes the transformation in organisation and management in post-communist societies of Central & Eastern Europe as well as in other emerging economies. In particular she focuses on organisational restructuring and privatisation.

Dr Adam Swain, Lecturer in Human Geography
His research interests lie in the political economy of post-soviet Europe and the history of British geographies of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. He has conducted research on industrial restructuring and regional development in eastern Germany, Hungary and Ukraine.
