Educational Technology for Healthcare Education
A new RLO entitled "Hello my Name is Tom" has just recently been released. This resource gives an insight into the world of a young person with an Autistic Spectrum disorder (ASD). It concentrates on interaction with Tom, a young person with ASD, within the school environment. The RLO was created by Gary Adlard, a learning disability nursing student at the University of Nottingham. Although Tom is a fictional character, he is based upon Gary's interaction with a number of individuals with ASD. This RLO won the 2009 Fiona Law prize for student-led innovation awarded by the National Network of Learning Disability Nursing.
