Times: All day, visit anytime
Location: Ground floor of Nottingham Central Library, 1 Carrington Street, Nottingham, NG1 7FH [map link]
What to expect:
360 Immersive Room
The immersive room is a state-of-the-art space dedicated to transporting children to the microscopic world. Inside there will be an array of images captured of everyday objects that they can interact with and learn more about. Image themes include:
- Pollen
- Plants
- Animals and Insects
- Food and Drink
All images can be "touched" to reveal either more information or a quiz on what the object is.
Colouring pages
Electron microscopy images are black and white because they use electrons and not light as the source. However, this gives a great opportunity for those attending to give these images some much needed creativity with our colouring pages.
Bookmarks
There will also be bookmarks located on the ground floor of the library which are free to takeaway. They describe how electron microscopy works at a beginner level and show some cool images of objects we've analysed at the nmRC.
