We hope the below will answer any questions you might have about attending our open days this Autumn. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, you can contact us on opendays@nottingham.ac.uk.

Before the day

I’ve booked an open day but haven’t had any emails. When will I receive my email about the open days?

When booking you should have received a confirmation email and follow-up emails about the event. If you haven’t received our emails, then they may be in your junk folder. Please search for emails from opendays@nottingham.ac.uk.

Please add opendays@nottingham.ac.uk to your list of trusted senders in your email account, to ensure all emails related to the open day are received.

If you cannot find your emails, please contact us at opendays@nottingham.ac.uk and we will be able to send you this information

When are the talks and tours taking place?

Full details of our talks can be found on our subject activities page. For non-subject activities, please see our general activities page.

Why can’t I find my subject talk in the online programme?

If your chosen course doesn’t appear on our subject activities list, it may mean there is no in-person talk or session on the day. Please make your way to the subject stand where staff and students will be happy to tell you more about your course and answer any questions. Our information stand locations are listed on our subject information stands page and can also be found on our campus maps which will be be available on arrival to the open day.

What time do I need to get there?

Any time between 9.30am and 4pm. Most activities run throughout the day on a drop-in basis, so you don’t need to arrive at 9.30am. However, we would recommend that you check the programme for full details of the timings of subject talks and activities.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes, you can bring as many guests as you wish, we don’t need to know guest names or numbers in advance. Just to be aware that some talks and activities will be limited to 1 guest per prospective student due to room capacities, but we have an award-winning campus and plenty of cafes for your guest(s) to pass the time in.

Can I cancel or rebook?

Yes, you can amend or cancel your booking via the booking confirmation email you received. Alternatively, you can email your request to opendays@nottingham.ac.uk.

Can I visit on a different day, if I can’t make the open day dates?

Yes, the University Park Campus grounds are open to the public all year round. You can download our campus map from our programme. There is a Visitor’s Centre at Trent Building reception (building no. 11 on the campus map) which is open from Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm. The team here can provide information including campus maps and a range of information about the University and the City.

Whilst you can wander around the campus, the buildings will not always be accessible, particularly over the weekend. There also wouldn’t be subject staff and student ambassadors around to chat to in the same way as on open days. However, if you have any questions then you can:

Do you have a virtual tour of the University?

Yes! We have fantastic virtual tours of University Park, Jubilee and Sutton Bonington campuses which may help you to learn a bit more about life at Nottingham.

Do I need to book a place for the talks or activities?

For most talks, seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours are also not prebookable, so you can just go to the relevant tour departure point on the day. If you have booked for Medicine, you will need to collect tickets for the talk on the open day. You will receive an email with further information about this.

Can I speak to the open days team about planning my day?

Our events team are busy organising the open days. They are often away from their desks at this time of year preparing our campus for the events. However, please email your enquiry to opendays@nottingham.ac.uk and they will reply as soon as they can

On the day

I am running late. Will this be a problem?

No. You don’t need to arrive at 9.30am. Most activities run throughout the day on a drop-in basis. However, we would recommend that you check the programme for full details of the timings of subject talks and activities.

What if I miss my scheduled talk?

Most talks are offered twice. If you miss both, then you can watch all talks at any time on Open Days on demand.

I haven’t booked. Can I still attend?

Yes, please come to campus! Our staff team will register you when you arrive.

I can’t find your University Park Campus. What is your postcode?

I can’t find your Sutton Bonington Campus. What is your postcode?

Am I allowed to bring my dogs?
