New ISAC Business Manager

Dr Matthew Piggott will join the Interface and Surface Analysis Centre (ISAC) as a dedicated business manager in August 2013. Matthew has a background in surface analytics, having completed a PhD in the Laboratory of Biophysics and Surface Analysis (LBSA), with a focus on adhesion force qualification and quantification in pressurised metered dose inhalers. In addition he is a qualified pharmacist who has worked in hospital and community pharmacy sectors in both practical and business operational capacities. Matthew’s new role will be to focus on the commercial identity and service provision of the centre to improve its financial self-sufficiency. Principally this will revolve around the co-ordination, marketing and advancement of external business opportunities with respect to centre’s instrumentation and personnel. He will also work closely with NPL to facilitate commercial access to broader surface and interfacial analytical expertise.
