Tamara Mahmood wins Seah Prize at UKSAF meeting

Tamara Mahmood won the Seah Prize in the UK Young Surface Analyst of the year competition 2017 hosted at the Pavilions Teignmouth, Teignmouth. Her presentation and poster entitled “Physiochemical Characterisation of a Fully Bioresorbable Stent with a Drug Eluting Coating” was judged the best in the field of 4 entrants from contestants based both in academia and industry.
Tamara is in the final year of her PhD within the AMHT and is sponsored by the BBSRC. This work is part of a multidisciplinary collaboration with Arterius Ltd, a medical device company. The biannual competition was inaugurated in 2002 to encourage young researchers in surface analysis from both academia and industry to share their knowledge and interest in the techniques and applications of surface analysis http://www.uksaf.net/.
