The Nottingham delegates at this year's BPSA Conference in Keele
This year, the BPSA (British Pharmaceutical Students' Association) 76th Annual Conference took place at Keele University. Nottingham sent thirteen delegates, including two delegates from the Malaysia campus, who represented students' views and debated national policies. Each year the conference hosts a variety of events such as Q&A panels with top pharmacy professionals, exciting workshops, debates and competitions. The conference is a brilliant opportunity to network with pharmacy students across the country and key figures in the pharmacy world.
The 80 delegates in attendance at the conference represented the views of all the pharmacy students across the country and this included electing members to join the 19-strong national executive who are responsible for coordinating the BPSA work and activities for the duration of the incumbent academic year. This year, the delegation saw four Nottingham students elected to the national executive including a successful bid to host the BPSA 77th Annual Conference 2019 at our very own University. We would like to congratulate Sukhveer Singh (Year 4) on becoming Treasurer, Janelle Peralta (Year 1) on becoming Eastern Area Coordinator, Huynh Cong Hieu (Year 3) and Chloe Lim Xiu Yu (Year 3) on becoming Annual Conference Organisers for the year 2018-2019. All four students led very strong campaigns on election day and did extremely well to get their votes!
The BPSA represents every pharmacy student across all schools of pharmacy in the country and hosts many exciting opportunities throughout the year for students to get involved with.
