The School of Pharmacy leads a new Centre for Doctoral Training in Transformative Pharmaceutical Technologies.
The Centre will educate 75 inspired and strategic-thinking postgraduate scientists ready for high achieving careers in the UK and Ireland pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Co-funded by EPSRC and 19 industrial partners from small to global businesses, the Centre is a joint venture between the University of Nottingham, University College London, and Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
The Centre will create new science and educate a new cadre of scientists with unique knowledge and skill-set to take active molecules from drug discovery and design technologies to transform these molecules into medicines to treat patients.
Prof Clive Roberts, Head of the School of Pharmacy said of the new Centre, "this is a wonderful opportunity in collaboration with our partners to continue to deliver innovative and challenging training for some of the most excellent pharmaceutical science postgraduates in the UK and Ireland".
