Congratulations
The school of pharmacy is delighted to announce that a number of our academics and external colleagues have been made honorary professors.
- Ms Judith Palmer, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director for Medicines Optimisation, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has been appointed Honorary Professor
- Mrs Kate Dawson, Consultant Pharmacist – Medicines Optimisation, East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) has been appointed Honorary Associate Professor
- Mrs Gillian Gookey, Senior Innovation Project Lead, East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) has been appointed Honorary Assistant Professor
“We are delighted to be offered the honorary positions. As graduates from the School of Pharmacy it is particularly special for us. Through our roles at the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network, delivering innovation programmes to improve health and care, we work collaboratively with the University on a number of current projects. We look forward to using this position to form even stronger relationships with the University and derive the full potential from collaborative working.” Mrs Kate Dawson and Mrs Gillian Gookey.
Two long serving members of staff who recently left the University have received Honorary Appointments in recognition of the excellent long term support they have given to the School:
- Dr Catharine Ortori – appointed Honorary Associate Professor
- Prof Xinyong Chen – appointed Honorary Assistant Professor
Head of School: "Honorary academic positions are an important part of the School offering for both teaching and research. Bringing in new or retaining experienced individuals who are as passionate as we are about the profession of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical research adds a real richness to the School. We are delighted that Judith Palmer, Chief Pharmacist, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and Mrs Kate Dawson and Mrs Gillian Gookey from the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network have accepted such positions with the School and very much look forward to working with them to develop new opportunities for the School and our students. We also are very pleased that Catharine Ortori and Xinyong Chen after very many years working in the School remain with us in an Honorary capacity to support our future research."
