Joseph obtained his MSci in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham in 2020. He has since stayed with the University to complete a PhD (pending assessment at the time of writing) supervised by Andrew Hook, Matthew Piggott and Anna Kotowska in the Advanced Materials and Healthcare Technologies (AMHT) division of the School of Pharmacy, titled "Understanding the Interactions of Biomolecules with Fabrics for Improved Fabric Care", sponsored by Croda Europe Ltd. During his PhD, his research interest in Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) developed which lead to his current role as a SIMS facility co-manager.
