School of Politics and International Relations

Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship Scheme

The School of Politics and International Relations is inviting expressions of interest from potential applicants whom we may put forward for the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships scheme.

The scheme provides support for outstanding early career scholars with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post. The objective is for Fellows to undertake a significant piece of publishable research during the tenure of the award, so the project should not be a reworking or mere extension of the candidate’s doctoral research project. Further eligibility criteria are listed on the Leverhulme website. It is imperative that applications show a strong fit between a mentor on the School’s academic staff and our wider research environment, including at least one of our research centres.

For initial sifting, applicants should email a c.v. (max. 2 pages) and statement of the proposed research (max. 2 pages, indicating contribution to the discipline, theoretical contexts, methods, resources, and planned outputs) before 5 p.m. on Friday 6 December to Benjamin.Holland@nottingham.ac.uk; applications will be sifted by representatives of the School’s Research Committee, and those which are successful at this stage will receive institutional support in developing their final applications. Applicants must have been in contact with a potential mentor who would be prepared to support their application before this deadline.
